View MoreTBT Design Services had been working with the owners prior to the flooding– redesigning and renovating the whole house, and devising a strategy for a new master suite. When Hurricane Harvey flooding ruined the first floor of the house, the owners decided to accelerate their schedule and redo the whole house, and include their desired expansion. The owners were given multiple options on how they could get the most out of their renovation budget. Ultimately, essentially all their wishes were incorporated into the final design.
The final design added 900 SF, for a total of 3,909 SF, and included huge master suite, new exercise room, conversion of a bedroom into a game room, new mudroom, new laundry room, expanded and upgraded kitchen space, updated living room, study and entry areas, renovated existing bedrooms, and new a Porte Cochere.
This was the existing first floor plan for a house in Nottingham Forest prior to it being flooded by Hurricane Harvey. Originally, the 2-story house was about 3,000 SF, 4-Bedroom, 2-1/2 Bathrooms, study, and a detached garage.
After the renovation the house expanded to 3,909 SF (additional 900 SF)—features included huge master suite, new exercise room, conversion of a bedroom into a game room, new mudroom, new laundry room, expanded and upgraded kitchen space, updated living room, study and entry areas, and new a Porte Cochere.
The exterior look of the original house was completely changed by demolishing the garage, rebuilding it, attaching the new, two-story garage/master suite to the existing house, a completely new house was created.
The completed product looks as though the house should have been built this way in the beginning. From the outside, one would not expect to find the huge master suite tucked in behind the original house. In addition, the original driveway was replaced, and a circular driveway was added. In the front entry way, a double front door was added. Overall, the curb appeal was increased significantly.
